The Making of Planet Earth 2
A BBC Executive Producer, Mike Gunton is the first Creative Director of the BBC Natural History Unit, the world’s largest production unit dedicated to wildlife filmmaking. Gunton works closely with the BBC Earth team. He puts on his storyteller hat and describes the making of Planet Earth II, which racked up more than 2,000 shooting days across 40 countries. Gunton shows stunning footage from the awe-inspiring six-hour documentary which is organized by habitat: islands, mountains, jungles, grasslands, deserts and cities. He explains the significance of advances that had been made in both technology and our understanding of the natural world since the making of the first Planet Earth by the BBC.
