Appointed executive and diplomatic editor of The Economist in 2018, Daniel Franklin had been executive editor since 2006, and also editor of The Economist‘s annual publication, “The World in…,” which focuses on the year ahead, since 2003. Additionally, Franklin published Megatech: Technology in 2050 and his book on long-term trends, Megachange: The World in 2050.
He has also held positions at The Economist as Britain Editor, Washington Bureau Chief and the Editorial Director of the Economist Intelligence Unit. Franklin has an AB degree from Oxford University, and a PhD from Aston University.
